1. Mathematical Physics and Engineering
Studies the mathematical structure and techniques in physical sciences and engineering, that covers areas of applied mathematics such as fracture and continuum mechanics and fluid dynamics, as well as quantum sciences and relativity. Research areas include fluid convection, flows in nanofluid and porous media, foundations of quantum theory, and other related topics.
2. Computational Mathematics and Scientific Computing
Covers the intersection of mathematics with applications in other sciences and explores the development of mathematical framework and computational tools in solving mathematical or scientific problem. Research areas include numerical analysis, mathematical modeling, optimization, computational finance, and other related topics.
3. Mathematical Values in Society
Values in mathematics are derived from the philosophical epistemology. In the epistemology, cognitive knowledge is classified into three main categories: metaphysics, mathematics and natural sciences. The classification is generally described by integrating the intellectual and transmitted sciences. In the classification, metaphysics is the ultimate destination for all branches of intellectual sciences. The implicit objective of metaphysical ultimate is considered as values in the scheme. The mathematical values in society describe the intrinsic nature of the paradigm in teaching-learning of the subject in society.
