1. Intelligent Computing, Neuroscience Computing, Mathematical and Statistical Computing, Economic Computing, Decision-Making Computing, and Cognitive Computing
This research program encompasses a broad interdisciplinary scope at the intersection of neuroscience, mathematics, statistics, economics, linguistics, and cognitive sciences. It emphasizes the development of novel methods, models, and algorithms for addressing mathematical and scientific problems through statistical analysis, numerical computation, data-driven modeling, and other advanced computational and analytical approaches.
2. Artificial Intelligence and Quantum AI
This program focuses on the study of mathematical structures, computational models, and analytical techniques applied to cognitive science and engineering. It encompasses traditional areas of applied artificial intelligence, including intelligent agents, search-based problem solving, knowledge representation, reasoning and planning, reasoning under uncertainty, machine learning, communication, perception, action, and robotics. In addition, the program integrates concepts from quantum science and quantum computing. Research interests include foundational theories and computational solutions such as the Harrow–Hassidim–Lloyd (HHL) algorithm, Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA), Variational Quantum Eigensolver (VQE), and Grover’s algorithm.
