Serdang, January 14, 2025 – The High-Performance Computing (HPC) Workshop Series 3 was successfully held on January 14, 2025, with enthusiastic participation from various academic backgrounds. The workshop aimed to enhance participants' understanding of HPC usage, particularly in job scheduling and the use of Slurm on HPC servers.
Associate Professor Dr. Nor Asilah Wati Abdul Hamid, Head of HPC at INSPEM, led the workshop. Throughout the program, participants were exposed to various intensive training modules covering both introductory and practical applications of HPC. The training sessions were conducted by Mr. Kathiresan Gopal from the Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), who has extensive experience in HPC system management.
In addition to technical lectures, the workshop included hands-on practical training and direct mentoring sessions led by facilitator Ms. NorHidayah Che Hassan, guiding participants in mastering best practices for using HPC systems effectively.

The feedback received from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many attendees stated that the workshop helped them gain valuable knowledge and skills relevant to the latest advancements in HPC server usage.
The HPC Workshop Series 3 is part of INSPEM’s ongoing initiative to strengthen high-performance computing. This effort is expected to contribute to the development of highly skilled human capital capable of supporting industry and research advancements at UPM and the national level.
