JINM INSPEM Program 2025 – “Fun with Numbers” Program in conjunction with STEMVAganza Carnival

PUCHONG, 23 July 2025 – A total of 100 Form 3 and Form 4 students from SMK Bandar Puchong Jaya (A) participated in the Fun with Numbers Program, conducted by a group of researchers from the Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in conjunction with the STEMVAganza Carnival, which was successfully held.

The program was led by Ms. Nur Raidah Salim, along with six Research Officers and one Postdoctoral Researcher from INSPEM. This initiative aimed to strengthen students' understanding of mathematical concepts through an interactive and enjoyable learning approach.

Various exciting activities based on mathematical concepts were conducted, such as number foundations, geometry exploration, secret codes, and strategy games. These activities not only sparked excitement and deep interest among the students but also succeeded in making the learning of mathematics more practical and effective.

In addition to providing direct exposure to school students, the program also strengthens collaborative networks between institutions of higher learning and schools, while fostering a spirit of community in empowering STEM education at the grassroots level.

INSPEM hopes that such efforts will continue to nurture students' interest in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), ultimately producing a STEM-literate generation capable of contributing to the nation's development in the future.
