Questionnaire Design Development Workshop Organized by INSPEM

Serdang, 7–8 October 2025 – The Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) successfully organized the Workshop on Questionnaire Design and Sampling at Melawati Lab 1, Sultan Abdul Samad Library, UPM.

The workshop was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications Malaysia and was attended by 35 participants representing various agencies under the ministry, including the Strategic and Corporate Communications Division (MyGCC), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), BERNAMA, the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

The programme was led by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Mohd Ayub as the Chief Speaker, together with his team comprising Ms. Nur Raidah Salim and Mr. Kathiresan Gopal, Senior Research Officers with extensive experience in questionnaire design and sampling methods. Their expertise added significant value to the workshop through insightful knowledge sharing and hands-on practical sessions.

This workshop served as a strategic initiative to strengthen research capacity and instrument development among participating agencies. The exposure to systematic questionnaire design methods and accurate sampling techniques enabled participants to produce more valid and reliable research findings for policy planning and strategic communication.

With academic support from INSPEM-UPM, this workshop has become an important platform for knowledge transfer, human capital development, and the enhancement of a data-driven research culture within the public communication sector.
