On Feb 14, 2023, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rezal Kamel Ariffin led a delegation of 15 persons to present Transitioning towards Post Quantum Cryptography to YB Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil, Minister for Communications and Digital. Top UPM management included Prof. Dr. Nazamid Saari (DVC Research and Innovation) and Prof. Dr. Ir. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin (DVC Industry and Community Relations). Top CyberSecurity official was Dr Maslina Daud (Senior Vice President). The team also included Ts Dr Saiyid Abdallah Syahir Al-Edrus, General Manager Cybersecurity Services TM One.

Post-quantum cryptography is the last wall of defence in the quantum computer era. This is evident in the White House announcement by US President Joseph Biden on May 2022, which instructed all US government agencies to prepare to be quantum secure.
